Uber will soon let riders book a shuttle to the airport
Uber Launches Uber Shuttle to Offer Affordable Group Rides #
Rideshare company Uber is introducing Uber Shuttle, a new service that allows users to book up to five seats in a shuttle from a central location to an event or the airport at a lower cost compared to a regular Uber ride. Unlike regular rides, the cost of Uber Shuttle rides will not be affected by surge pricing. Users can reserve their space on the shuttles, which can accommodate between 14 and 55 seats, up to a week in advance and will receive a QR code ticket for boarding. The service will first be available in select US cities, with plans for further expansion. This announcement was made as part of Uber’s annual product update, where the company also unveiled a discounted Uber One membership program for students and the ability for Uber Eats users to order from Costco without a membership. Another feature introduced by Uber is aimed at caregivers, allowing them to book rides, order groceries, and purchase medical supplies for loved ones. Uber will also introduce the option to pre-book shared rides at a discount, starting in major US cities. Camiel Irving, general manager of US and Canada mobility operations, expressed the belief that sharing is a crucial aspect of the future of cities.
